Snapsift Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21 October 2026

About this policy

This policy covers the Snapsift app for iPhone and this website, snapsift.io, in both language versions. The same text is shown inside the app under About → Privacy: the app ships it so you can read it without an internet connection.

Who we are

DVLPM LLP, 8 Stoney Lane, Stoney Works, London, SE19 3BD, United Kingdom, publishes Snapsift and is the data controller. Contact: support@dvl.pm.

Everything stays on your device

The app has no server and no accounts. Nothing it sees or computes is sent anywhere; the only thing it requests from the network is prices and purchases from the App Store — through system frameworks, with no data about your photos attached (see “Purchases”).

What the app reads

Photos and videos from your library: capture date, size, the Favorite and Edited flags, and downscaled copies of the images themselves — in order to analyze them.

What is stored

The analysis result is numbers only: an image fingerprint and scores for sharpness, exposure, and face quality. It lives in a file inside the app, is excluded from iCloud backup, and is erased by “Reset analysis cache” or by deleting the app. Face fingerprints are used to tell one series of shots from another; they are never matched against names or contacts.

Deleting photos

The app never deletes anything on its own. The delete button opens a system dialog, and deleted items go to Recently Deleted, where they stay for 30 days.

Diagnostics

The app keeps a technical log made of numbers only — group sizes, score distributions, counters. No photos, file names, or identifiers ever appear in it. Crash reports come from the system and stay on the device too. Neither is sent automatically: the log can only be shared manually.

Purchases

Snapsift Pro is paid for through the App Store. Apple processes the payment: the app never sees your payment details and never links the purchase to the contents of your library. Requesting prices and purchases from the App Store is the app's only network activity; your photos and analysis results play no part in it.

Ads and analytics

There are none. No ad networks, no trackers, no third-party analytics libraries; the app never asks for tracking permission.

This website

These pages are static files. The site has no analytics, no cookies, no forms, and no third-party scripts or fonts.

The web server that delivers these pages keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser, time) for security and operations. They rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and are not used to identify you.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restrict or object to processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). The app holds no data about you on our side, so there is usually nothing to access or delete; for anything about the site or this policy, email support@dvl.pm.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date. The text inside the app is updated with the next release.
